Another great opportunity from the CEC was the chance to volunteer at the "When Faith Meets Pedagogy" Conference. This is a huge event held by the Catholic Association of Religious and Family Life Education of Ontario. Its message was on preserving the Catholic Board within our province and highlighting its importance within our school system and its students.
I volunteered to introduce guest speakers for the day. My first guest speak was three teachers who wrote an interactive ebook, which explains their trip to Nunavut and exploring the Inuit culture. This was interesting because reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples is such a major topic today and I think it is important to educate our youth on our country's past. My second guest speaker explained the new religion curriculum that is rolling out within the Catholic boards of Ontario.
