My Teaching Philosophy 

 

I believe my role as a teacher is to guide my students on their educational journey to develop a passion for learning, discover themselves as individuals and as influential members in our world.  I hope to create a welcoming, positive and inclusive classroom environment that invites students to learn skills and knowledge that they will apply in their future endeavours.

 

I hope to be an influential role model, whom students can trust and feel safe to approach with matters of importance to them. I will create these bonds by taking the initiative to understand my students on more than just an accademic level by acknowledging their cultures, communities, and interests. Integrating these aspects within our classroom setting and my lesson plans will work to create an inclusive environment. 

 

I strongly believe in the importance to incorporate connections with the curriculum and real-world events to engage students on a new level of thinking about their impact in our world. Mother Teresa's quote represents my view in inspiring every child that their voice and efforts are always recognized in our classroom, our school, our community, and our world.
